Churchill War Museum & Westminister Abbey

It said Lambeth Bridge. So Robb insisted.
We went to bed "early" last night. Which meant we didn't cruise the streets of London until midnight like we did the night before - +robb benedict wanted to check out Charing Cross and have a beer (think Spirit of the West). So it is now 6:30 am, and I am up. Everyone else is asleep - little bean is so cute.

Yesterday we made the trek to Parliament (we didn't go in because of the 'pram' - and really taking a 10 month old to see the House of Lords doesn't work I don't think - we figured we'd take him back when he can appreciate the boringness of politics). We walked by Big Ben, crossed the Westminister Bridge, looked at the London Eye, marvelled, and walked back! I bought Bran his London shirt, and our typical souveniers.

In front of the Thames. It was windy.

We then went to Westminister Abbey. If you ever go to London, buy the London Pass, it is super handy. However, not as amazing as the Paris Museum Pass - that thing was freaking amazing. That one let me skip lineups!

Walking through this amazing halls was ... aweinspiring. I walked where Princess Diana walked. Seriously people, amazing balls. We saw the names of all the major players in history, crammed into this one spot. Soon there won't be any of the original floor left, as it will be all plaques!

We then went to St. James's Park. Bran loved it.

Ducks, geese, swans. All amazing things. He wouldn't even look when we said "Camera, Bran!"And believe me, that's an amazing event!

After this, Robb, Bran and I went to Churchill War Museum. Such an interesting man, and such a cool slice of history. I would have loved to spend hours and hours there, but we only had one hour, as they were about to close!

Today we go to the Guard's Museum and watch the changing of the Life Guards (horses - Bran will be stoked). And then hopefully Abbey Road.

LONDON!!!

The changing of the guards was pretty cool. We're staying in an amazing hotel, near Westminister Chapel. Literally a 5 minute walk from Buckingham Palace and Westminister Abbey.

I think between Robb and I we have ALMOST a full nights sleep in the last 36 hours.

In Zaragoza

We are finished at the beach and noe we are in Zaragoza.  We drove to Pamplona this morning - leaving at 6:30am and arriving in Pamplona in time to run to the fences and watch/hear the bulls. There were some super scared people on the other side of the fence! We are now in Zaragoza where we went to basilica del pilar and saw two bombs on the wall that had not exploded and went up the tower to see an amazing view of Zaragoza!

Burned legs and blister toes

Well we had a great day on the beach. Bran loved the water, he played in the tidal pools. Robb, Joel Simay and Jill all went body boarding while Brandon slept on me. I burned. What is a vacation without a little burn?

After Robb Bran and I went to the aquarium and saw sharks eels turtles and sting rays. Now we are figuring out our next step!

In San Sebastián

We finally made it. After a slight detour through the French Pyrenees and a very hot hike up a mountain to a suspension bridge.

In Juerrita

We are sitting in a cute little Casa eating breakfast.  The town is a maze of streets, which sometimes include stairs.  The air is filled with the scent of the flowers at every window.  The sound of the church bells that ring every half hour only make it better.

Almost leaving Barcelona!

Jill and I have checked out of the hotel, but of course the boys are stuck at the airport getting the car. And so we wait, with all the bags. I would take a picture to show you the craziness of 6 people´s bags, but again, I cannot figure out why the sd card slot doesn´t work!

Yesterday was sweet. We visit the Sagrada Familia yesterday, and went to the beach. The lineup for the Sagrada Familia was intense! It wrapped around almost the whole building. We kept thinking we were at the end, and then we turned the corner!

In other news, I finally found diapers that fit Brandon. They are called Dodot, and I hope they fit him! And the sweetest thing, for those Gluten Free travellers, Gluten Free baby cereal! Yay! I cannot even find any in Canada that actually say Gluten Free!

The girls all got sweet Barcelona bags. We each chose a different design. It made the line up for the Sagrada a little more interesting, as we took turns going shopping. Joel treated us to cups of fruit - mangoes, strawberries, kiwis, coconuts. Robb and Bran both got hats - Robb a straw hat, and Brandon a FC Barcelona one, and if you know anything about Brandon, you´ll know that he would rather chew the strap, then wear it. Because hats suck! I also picked up a shirt for Brandon that says Barcelona.

Other than that we picked up some little knicknacks.

I know that pictures would make this FAR more interesting. Like the picture of
  • all the girls holding the red roses that Robb bought (forced into by the vendor) for us
  • Brandon licking the walls of the Sagrada Familia
  • Brandon´s first swim in the Mediterranean
  • Joel holding a naked baby.
But, sadly, no pictures. Maybe the next hotel will have a working sd card slot!
